BIG Changes Ahead!

Norman Downes Community Association Website Update!

Have you ever wondered who is on your HOA board, or who to talk to about a problem you believe needs addressing? Ever wondered how to volunteer for an event, or wanted to chair a committee? Ever looked for a snippet of information about Norman Downes and couldn’t find it? Well fret no more!

The new website will be more useful, with less clutter to search through. The information that you need will just be a few clicks away. Upcoming improvements include (but are not limited to) a whole new design, a calendar of events, online assessment payments, links to local city and community resources & events, information about the last and upcoming meeting, who to contact, and so much more!

Our goal with these changes is to provide a more relevant and useful website. We want to provide information that you need in a timely fashion and reconnect you with the Association’s board of directors. We want to help make community involvement easy and exciting as well as make your lives easier!
If you have questions or comments, ideas, hopes or dreams for the new website, please leave them in the comments below! We will be reviewing each and every one of them.

For the time being, we will be actively working to respond to your comments as we move forward. The site as it currently is, will continue to be fully functional until we make the change to the new site.

We will update you as we make progress!!

Litter and Pollution Control Awareness

There has been a recent focus within our neighborhood to increase awareness about litter, especially in our streams. On July 8th a number of Boy Scout Troops helped to pick up trash on the Lake Norman dam. An incredible amount of trash ends up in our lake and it takes constant effort to keep it clean. This photo shows just some of the trash pick up on only the dam area.

This effort was very much appreciated by those that enjoy the lake. There is plenty of trash in other areas of the lake and many residents spend time picking up trash from the lake.

Recently there was a trash can painting party at the pool as part of the “no trash in the stream awareness project”. A number of children in our neighborhood helped paint. Just another opportunity to help our residents understand the importance of keeping our yards and streams litter free.
